The piano is the king of instruments for many reasons and it isn't exactly as it appears. Most beginners believe it to be a string instrument but actually it also belongs to the percussion family too as the strings are stuck by the hammers inside.
Playing the piano is also dramatically more diverse than most people realise too. For you may wish play the blues like Pinetop Smith, play on the concert stage the exquisite Mozart piano Sonatas. You may want to rock out like Ben Folds or Jerry Lee Lewis. You could even be the pianist of a Jazz quartet like Dave Brubeck.
The piano is the ultimate songwriting/composing tool if you want to be the next Billy Joel, Brian Wilson or George Gershwin.
So many avenues of discovery to explore on the piano will give you a lifetime of joy!
I prepare my students for ABRSM classical and jazz grades 1 to 8. Some students have chosen to take the Trinity or Rock school exams which is fine.

Guitar is a versatile instrument and always an admired skill to play. From classic pieces of Francisco Tarrega, to the loud rock legends such as Jimi Hendrix up to folk tunes of Bert Jansch, it is an inspiring instrument for all ages and levels of experience. If you are a beginner, it is also one of the easiest instruments to get started on and enjoy its company at all times.
I will help you to learn the songs you want to play, the techniques required to perform them and guide you through the preparation for the Rock School, ABRSM and RGT guitar grades.
I design the lessons I offer according to my students’ abilities, musical taste and time availability. I tailor the lessons depending on my students’ needs and music interests while making sure they get a solid understanding of how music is made and how to perform it.
